Description

In this role, you will work efficiently and optimally across multiple projects and teams to understand requirements and engineer highly performant and reliable implementations. You will build large scale web-based projects and features, ensuring robust and maintainable solutions are implemented with special attention to performance and scale. You will have the opportunity to design, architect, develop, and validate software integrations with internal and external partners and vendor systems through the entire SDLC, from proof-of-concept to production release. You will be working with cross-functional client teams to ensure live video features are performing as designed. This role will have you solving real-time live video delivery issues, under real-time pressure as well as troubleshoot complex internal and external partner and vendor integrations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Expertise in modern programming languages (Java, Go…)
  • Expert knowledge of developing, scaling and deploying server applications with very stringent latency and availability requirements.
  • Expertise designing, implementing, and using RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, MongoDB, Redis…).
  • Experience with data interchange formats (XML, JSON…).
  • Ability to successfully work with multi-functional teams to understand requirements and engineer highly performant implementations.
  • Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, networking, data structures, design, performance…).
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies: serverless, storage, containers.
  • Experience working with QA/QC teams, issue tracking, and technical documentation.
  • Experience writing effective unit and integration tests.
  • This role will require after-hours and weekend support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building services that power video and/or live streaming platforms
  • Experience with Kafka
  • BS/BA in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent is preferred.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
