The annual base salary for this position ranges from $112,600.00 in our lowest geographic market to $251,800.00 in our highest geographic market.

We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer with the ability to oversee technical direction and drive work to completion, as well as help build a culture of collaboration where every voice is heard.

The responsibilities of this role are both impactful and rewarding! Every day, this person will be responsible for designing and building reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale to support analytics products.
They will design and implement product features in collaboration with business and Technology partners.

This involves cleaning, preparing, and optimizing data at scale for ingestion and consumption.
It includes solving complex data issues and performing root cause analysis exercises to proactively resolve product and operational issues. LEAD DATA ENGINEER Remote Option
Our Lead Data Engineer will drive the implementation of new data management projects and re-structure as necessary of existing data architecture.
It’s important that we build continuous integration, test-driven development, and production deployment frameworks.

Another exciting aspect of this role is the responsibility and opportunity to mentor, develop, and lead other data engineers by modeling standard methodologies that can be adopted team-wide.

What you will work on

If this is you, you’ll be working within the Profitability and Margin Analytics Squad to implement engineering future state solutions supporting Nike’s transition to our new innovative Sales and Financial ERP.
You will be designing and implementing data flows to intake financial transactions, develop and apply complex business rules for cost attribution, and model and integrate data with additional product and customer attribution to support financial optimization and deep analytics. Technically, this means you’ll be responsible for building the financial analytic capabilities that transform Nike to meet the challenges of a mixed retail and wholesale future.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or other related field of study; or any combination of relevant equivalent experience, education and training
  • 6+ years of relevant working experience
  • Prior experience with Financial data and systems
  • Advanced experience building cloud-scalable, real-time, high-performance data lake solutions
  • Strong experience in Python, Spark, Airflow, etc.
  • Strong experience with Cloud Data Stacks (AWS, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Strength in developing complex data solutions
  • Solid understanding of the solution and technical design
  • In-depth understanding of microservice architecture
  • Experience working on end-to-end solution design
  • Experience with relational SQL
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related dev process
